Blue Ridge Volleyball, Soccer, Boys Golf All Victorious on Thursday, September 1, 2011

BLUE RIDGE def. MAROA-FORSYTH 25-21, 25-15

MAROA, Ill. -- The Lady Knights, five days after hosting the Blue Ridge Invitational and placing second, improves its record to 4-1 after a non-conference victory over the Lady Trojans.

The Zelhart sisters led Blue Ridge to victory in Maroa, as Kaitlyn led the team with five kills, eight digs and three service aces. Emily contributed with eight assists.

The Lady Knights' junior varsity team left Maroa victorious as well, beating the Lady Trojans 25-7, 25-18.

Soccer
BLUE RIDGE 2, TOLONO UNITY 1

TOLONO, Ill. -- J.J. Malone recorded his 15th goal of the season for Blue Ridge.

Travys Nichols scored a goal as well, as the Knights improve their record to 6-1.

BLUE RIDGE 176, LEXINGTON 180, FISHER 242

FARMER CITY, Ill. -- Justin Jamison led the Knights at Woodlawn Country Club, placing fourth among all individual golfers with a score of 43.

Mason Potts and Dylan Weidner tied for fifth, each shooting a 44.

The Blue Ridge volleyball team's next match will be on Tuesday, where the Lady Knights will begin Heart of Illinois Conference action at Ridgeview.

The boys golf team will be in action on Tuesday as well, teeing off against Clinton.

The soccer team will be at South Park on Saturday, where the Knights will kick off against Danville Schlarman at 11 a.m.
