Blue Ridge Sports Roundup (September 22, 2011): Soccer, Boys Golf Teams Win Road Meets

WATSEKA, Ill. -- Five days after beating Watseka 6-0 en route to winning the Hoopeston Cornjerker Classic, the Knights overtook the Warriors in a regular-season match by the same score.

J.J. Malone delivered another scoring barrage to Watseka, picking up four goals. Conner Builta and Ian Riggs each scored a goal as well.

Builta was credited with two assists as well while Riggs had one assist.

Josh Plunk saved five shots to preserve the shutout.

With the win, Blue Ridge improved its record to 15-1-2. The Knights will kick off in Heyworth on Monday at 4:30 p.m. CST.

SAYBROOK, Ill. -- Will Duggins and C.J. Bishop each shot a 42 to tie for meet medalist honors at Indian Springs Golf Course.

Austin Maxwell and Mason Potts also contributed to the Knights' final score. Maxwell and Potts scored a 47 each.

The Knights will tee off on Monday at 4:15 p.m. CST, when they will host a triangular meet at Woodlawn Country Club against Fisher and LeRoy.
