Blue Ridge Soccer Wins Cornjerker Classic Championship with 2-0-2 Record; Girls Golf Team Participates in LeRoy Invitational

HOOPESTON, Ill. -- J.J. Malone scored a total of 10 goals to lead the Knights to a 6-0 victory over Watseka and an 8-0 win over Georgetown-Ridge Farm.

Malone recorded five goals in each game. With those goals, he is one away from reaching the milestone of 40 goals for the 2011 season.

The Knights finished the Hoopeston Cornjerker Classic with a record of 2-0-2, winning the tournament championship on a tiebreaker.

Conner Builta scored a hat trick for Blue Ridge against GRF. Malone, Ian Riggs and Josh McQuaid each had two assists in that game.

Builta also scored a goal and three assists against Watseka. Jon Jones recorded two assists while goalkeeper Josh Plunk saved one shot.
Blue Ridge's record improved to 13-1-2. The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, when they will travel to Mount Pulaski.

Girls Golf

The Blue Ridge girls golf team finished 10th at the LeRoy Invitational Scramble with a score of 81.

Dunlap won the invite by shooting a 64.
