FARMER CITY, Ill. -- Kaitlyn Zelhart led the Lady Knights once again, as Blue Ridge picked up a 25-12, 25-23 win over Tremont.
Kaitlyn Zelhart picked up nine kills and one block. Emily Zelhart contributed to the Lady Knights' efforts with 12 assists.
Jessica Schrock recorded 11 service points and two aces. Jordan Wheeler had five digs and two aces while Amber Blazek was credited with a couple of aces as well.
However, all was not good for Blue Ridge, as the junior varsity team lost to the Turks 25-23, 26-24.
The varsity team moves to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the Heart of Illinois Conference with the win over Tremont. Next up for the Lady Knights is a bus trip heading west on Highway 54.
They will play in the Clinton Invitational at 8 a.m. on Saturday. One of the teams Blue Ridge will be facing is Heyworth.
In the Lady Knights' previous meeting with the Lady Hornets, Heyworth won the Farmer City Blue Ridge Regional championship game 25-20, 25-19.
From there, the Lady Hornets went on to win the Class 1A state championship.
