Blue Ridge Volleyball Hands Dee-Mack Its First Loss of the Season

FARMER CITY, Ill. -- By protecting their home court, the Lady Knights have turned the Heart of Illinois Conference's title race into an interesting one.

Deer Creek-Mackinaw entered Blue Ridge High School with an undefeated record. With a 25-21, 26-24 victory, the Lady Knights sent the Lady Chiefs back home with a record of 10-1 overall and 4-1 in the HOIC.

Blue Ridge (13-3, 4-1) was led by Kaitlyn Zelhart, who recorded 10 kills, two blocks and one ace.

Jordan Wheeler contributed with 10 digs while Emily Zelhart had 13 assists, nine service points and one ace. Jessica Schrock was credited with seven service points and Amber Blazek scored one ace.

There will be no time for rest for the Lady Knights, who will travel to Downs on Wednesday for another conference test against Tri-Valley.

The Lady Vikings are 4-1 in the HOIC and 14-3 overall after beating Ridgeview on Tuesday.
