Just like they did prior to the 2004 season, the White Sox hired a former player to serve as their team's manager.
Former third baseman Robin Ventura has been chosen to manage the South Siders.
In Ventura's 10 years with the White Sox (during which he wore No. 23), he batted .274 while hitting 171 home runs and 217 doubles and driving in 741 runs.
