FARMER CITY, Ill. -- Blue Ridge played in its final meet at Woodlawn Country Club for the 2011 season on Monday.
The Knights, overall, saved their best performance for last, shooting a season-best 166 as a team to beat Heyworth 166-177.
Dylan Weidner shot a 39 to medal at the meet. Austin Maxwell, who played his final home meet at Blue Ridge, scored a 41 to claim second place among individual golfers.
C.J. Bishop and Will Duggins each shot a 43 to contribute to the Knights' final score. Mason Potts scored a 46 and Tucker Johnson (who, along with Maxwell, played for a final time at Woodlawn Country Club), shot a 54; neither score counted on Blue Ridge's team score.
For Heywroth, Alex Russell shot a 42 to lead the Hornets and claim third place among individual golfers. Justin Witten was second on Heyworth's team with a score of 44.
Kaleb Marr and Austin Bailey shot a 45 and a 46, respectively, to contribute to the Hornets' final score.
Blue Ridge will compete in the Bismarck-Henning Regional on Tuesday at 9 a.m. The meet will be played at Harrison Park in Danville.
