TREMONT, Ill. -- The Lady Knights picked up their first Heart of Illinois Conference victory with a road win over the Turks.
Blue Ridge outscored Tremont 24-22 in the first half (12-11 in each quarter) before an 11-4 third quarter. The Turks' 19-16 fourth quarter was not enough to rally them to a victory.
Jamison Brandt was the Lady Knights' leading scorer with 13 points. Melinda Wilson and Gabby Pearl each contributed 12 points.
Wilson also stole the ball eight times.
Korrie Gilbert finished the game with eight points while Jacquelyn O'Neal scored four. O'Neal blocked three shots as well.
Bailey Clancy recorded two points.
With the win, Blue Ridge improves to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the HOIC. The Lady Knights will host Heyworth on Monday.
