GIBSON CITY, Ill. -- After the Knights gained a 17-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Hawks raced ahead with a 18-6 run in the second quarter to go up 32-23 at halftime.
From there, Prairie Central controlled the action en route to a blowout victory in the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Thanksgiving Tournament. Addison Bounds led the way with 25 points, including 15 in the first half.
For Blue Ridge, Tucker Johnson led the team in scoring with 19 points. Michael Plunk scored double-digit points as well with 11.
Daniel Gilbert contributed to the Knights' scoring with four points. Jon Jones, Johnney Bruden and C.J. Bishop each scored three points while Travys Nichols and Trenor Hildreth each added two.
Blue Ridge (0-2) will continue playing in the GCMS Thanksgiving Tournament on Friday, when it faces Bismarck-Henning at 5:30 p.m.
