FITHIAN, Ill. -- Thanks to another double-double from Jacquelyn O'Neal, the Lady Knights left the Comet Classic with a fifth-place finish.
O'Neal scored 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Jamison Brandt also scored in double figures, picking up 11 points.
Blue Ridge finished the first quarter tied 8-8 in the first quarter and trailed the Comets 19-16 at halftime. From there, however, the Lady Knights outscored Oakwood 14-7 in the third quarter and 20-2 in the fourth.
Melinda Wilson finished the game with six points. Korrie Gilbert scored five points while Jeana Cheek had four points.
Bailey Clancy and Gabby Pearl each contributed two points.
With the win, Blue Ridge improves its record to 3-3. The Lady Knights will travel to Colfax on Monday for a Heart of Illinois showdown against Ridgeview.
